In this workshop:

  • We will make sauerkraut together for you to take home.
  • Demonstrate brewing mead (honey wine) and making fruit vinegar.
  • Demonstrate making herbal kombucha.

A few more details

In this workshop, we will establish an understanding of the various stages of fermentation when making Kombucha, what a SCOBY really needs, and show you how we get creative with herbs in our brews.
In the second part of this workshop, we will demonstrate all the steps in making mead and sampling various batches. Then we will cover how to make fruit vinegar which you can easily make at home and use in pickling, cooking and dressing.

Last but not least, we will unpack what is lacto-fermentation and how we regularly use in our kitchen to preserve produce and make delicious live cultured foods. We will make together our favourite lacto-ferment - sauerkraut, which you will take home with you.

What to bring?

Bring a 500 ml jar to take sauerkraut home with you.

Bring any size jar to take a kombucha SCOBY with you.
